Cronut in Amman!

21 November 2015

What is a Cronut?

A croissant-doughnut hybrid

The infamous Cronut was created by Dominique Ansel in New York City. It is sold at the Dominique Ansel Bakery in New York where people stand in line for up to 3 hours to get to try a Cronut. Dominique is the creator of the original Cronut and only makes about 300 a day which are sold out by 10am.

The Cronut madness has finally reached Amman. The brilliant local bakery The Cakery has replicated the Cronut & is selling them by order in limited quantities.

Our Cronut expert Nina Mufleh who stood in line for hours in the rain at Dominique Ansel Bakery says that the Cakery's Cronut is "Very close to the original Cronut, minus the experience of standing in line... in the rain."

Dominique Ansel has trademarked the name Cronut and is now creating Cronut Donut Holes, making 900 a day. Lets wait and see if the Cakery gets into Donut holes too.
