With the switch to Summer time this month we have sprung forward an hour and “gained” an hour of light at the end of the day. What this means is that we leave our offices, schools, lives at the end of a day with a few hours of light. What do you do with this extra time in the light? Here are some ideas that I like to indulge in this lovely spring.

1. Go for a walk in the cool afternoon breeze.
2. Fly a kite from a hill top (contact www.hamzetwasel.com for more info).
3. Sit on a hilltop and hear the call to prayer vibrate and echo up through the valleys of Amman
4. Go green and take the time to look after a new plant or garden.
5. Spend some time with yourself, reading, sitting, de-stressing.
6. Create something. Draw, build, write, take a picture, sew, knit... use your hands and let them tell a story through a medium you and your hands enjoy.
7. Spend time watching the sun sink for the day. My favorite is to actually look east and watch the reflection of the light and colors changing on the white stone of Amman. Some of the best places for that are in Jabal Amman and Jabal Al Luweibdeh as they look over the valley that is downtown.
8. Explore a new neighborhood in Amman and find the local park there. There are many parks in Amman and some of them are well kept secrets. Help us uncover them and find them and share them with

9. Try one of the new places highlighted on www.beamman.com in their 'What's New section'
10. Come sit with me at the first circle for 30 minutes at sunset on Wednesdays. Sunset is at about 7pm these days so 6:45 to 7:15
